Sorry for my absence but the past week has been crazy and weird. The weather was even crazy. I think it was Tuesday that it got up to 25 degrees and I was in my tank top already before lunch. 🙂 Then yesterday we had snow. lol I did take a ton of photos though through out the week. 🙂
I wanted to share my favorite from the past week though today which are of the bees pollinating the Haskap flowers (aka Honeyberries) with my new macro lens. I think bees are amazing insects and I am so grateful for them. If you have never learned about bees, I urge you to read up on them because they are quite interesting. Did you know that they have ways of telling other bees in the hive where the flowers are? Even how their body is designed is amazing. Their tiny wings should not be able to support them but they do. 🙂 Without bees, we definitely would not survive long. The work that they do is vital to our survival. So I have a lot of respect for them and love getting photos of them busy pollinating flowers. 🙂 I am quite proud of how well my macro lens did for these photos. 🙂
These are some photos of our yellow Crocuses that I took on April 3. I used my macro lens for these photos.

Here are photos of Purple Crocuses that I took on April 7. I like the first one because you can see the individual grains of pollen. 🙂

I have obviously taken a bit of a break since my last post and I won’t get into it but “stuff” happened and got in the way. I am still dealing with that “stuff” but hopefully I can get back into this again as well. 🙂 I recently got a macro lens that I was constantly talking about wanting in many of my previous posts! I am so excited and have been posting a few photos on instagram actually. But I thought it would be nice to get back into posting on here. Instagram is a pain for me to get my photos on to because I take my photos with my dslr and not my phone.
I am not sure how I will post on here yet but I am thinking it won’t necessarily be every single day. But I can guarantee that it will be mostly macro photos. lol Or at least photos taken with my macro lens. 🙂 It is everything I dreamed it would be and I am excited to share the photos that I take with it. 🙂 Here are a couple that I took yesterday.
I have a love/hate relationship with dandelions. They are a pain but they can be pretty. 🙂 It was windy so the photo wasn’t as clear as it could have been but it is still interesting. The other photo is Chloe…. who we discovered is a boy but he still kept his name. Hopefully he doesn’t get too messed up having a girl’s name. lol
Over the next few days, I think I will probably share some of my other photos that I took with my macro lens that I would like to share still. Stay tuned for those! 🙂
Today is the last day of 2015. The final official day of my photo a day challenge. I am not sure yet what I will do from here on but I would like to continue this somehow. I thought maybe I might not post every day but then it isn’t a routine and may not happen so I don’t know yet. Thank you to everyone who has followed me, liked my photos and left kind comments. 🙂 I appreciate it! 🙂 I thought about this final post and thought that I would share some nice photos of my kitties who have become regulars on here. lol It seems fitting that they get to be on the final post of the year. My heart still aches for the loss of Ben and I wish he was still here to join me in welcoming another year. But I still have 3 wonderful kitties to share my love with so I am glad about that. 🙂 Here is a photo of each of them that I took today. 🙂 I actually managed to catch Chloe sitting still long enough for a photo. lol

Today I am sharing a photo of a Common Redpoll that only shows up maybe once every few years. To me, there is nothing common about that. 😉 Anyways, the photo isn’t great but it is the best I have been able to get up to this point. They only show up in the winter and only make it this far south maybe every few years or so. It totally depends on the conditions apparently. As far as I understand, it has to do with the weather and the food available for them somehow. I read an article in the fall that this winter would be a good year for them to show up so I have been hoping for some chances to get good photos. lol I was so excited when I caught my first glimpse of them maybe a month ago or so. 🙂 Anyways, this is the best that I have been able to get so far so I am sharing what I got. 🙂 The picture is grainy and all of that but they scare easily so I have to take photos from quite a distance away so I don’t scare them. They seem to enjoy the suet that the woodpecker drops when it eats. 🙂

Today we took down the Christmas tree so I thought I would get a few photos before we did. I thought I would share one last ornament photo on here as well. My sister got these ornaments for my parents last year and they are so beautiful. 🙂

This post is for yesterday because I was unable to post. Yesterday my sister and her family got together with us for our Christmas get together. It was a bit late this year but that is ok. 🙂 My nephews and niece were spoiled and I think we all really enjoyed being able to spoil them. 🙂 The Christmas tree was so pretty all lit up that I really wanted to share the photo. 🙂 By the end of the day though, I was exhausted and had to leave posting till today.
Today was another long day and I didn’t get much of a chance to take many photos. So when the sun was setting, I took the opportunity to grab a photo. 🙂 Maybe it isn’t the most spectacular sunset ever but every sunset is beautiful to me. So I am sharing basically the only photo I managed to get today. lol The day seemed to go by in fast forward but it still feels like it was such a long day looking back. I guess some days are like that though huh? Well here is the photo. 🙂
This post is for yesterday because I was unable to post. As promised, I did get a photo of Jack. 🙂 A day late but after I gave him sufficient cuddles, he was willing to sit for the camera and not climb into my lap as I tried to take a photo. lol I love that he loves my lap so much but it makes it hard to get a photo. lol
